FEDIYMA , the European Federation of DIY Manufacturers, was created in March 2000. Its founding members are the BHHMA in the UK , Germany ’s Bau+DIY , and Unibal of France .
FEBIN , in Belgium , BmB in Scandinavia and IVG in Germany have recently joined FEDIYMA.

As the association is always looking for the growing market, they are proud to organise this forum in Spain to celebrate the first anniversary of the AFEB’s partnership in FEDIYMA (Do-it-yourself Spanish manufacturers' associations).
The market in Europe uses to be focused on UK, France, Germany , Belgium and Scandinavia and represents 80% of total DIY sales throughout with the Spanish membership they are now close to the dynamic trends of southern Europe.

Why FEDIYMA?
With the DIY business becoming increasingly global, it is important that European manufacturers and suppliers have access to the strength and support of a European federation.

Given the formation of NAFTA (North America free trade agreement) and the close co-operation that exists between the ASEAN countries, the Single European Market is assuming an ever more prominent position in global trade. The euro reinforced the status of Europe as a trading block.

The formation of a European federation of DIY manufacturers reflects the growing international status of the region and provides its member companies with the competitive advantage that comes from being part of both a national association and a regional federation.

FEDIYMA: the opportunity
FEDIYMA provides the Federation’s membership with valuable opportunities for dialogue and exchange with retailers, suppliers and other trade associations around the world, as well as opportunities to pursue the development of trade on a European and global scale.

The Board of FEDIYMA
FEDIYMA is headed by a President, two Vice presidents, a Treasurer and a Board of Directors. Gilles Caille, President of UNIBAL, is the President of FEDIYMA. Dietrich Alberts of Bau+DIY and John Baker of the BHHMA are Vice presidents. Gilbert Van der Voort of FEBIN is Treasurer. The Board of Directors is representative of the membership and the industry.

The future of FEDIYMA
FEDIYMA with its three founding member associations was just at the beginning of its history. The Board of FEDIYMA welcomes new member associations and actively encourages other European DIY manufacturers’ organisations to join, as FEBIN, BLF, IVG and AFEB have done. The more members FEDIYMA has, the stronger the influence is.
