Ex-Focus boss joins home shopping group

Bill Grimsey, the former ceo of Focus DIY Ltd, has been appointed as a non-executive director at Findel PLC, a home shopping retail group.

Findel, which operates mail-order brands Express Gifts and Kleeneze, announced today that Mr Grimsey will join the board on March 1, sitting on the audit and risk committee and the nomination committee.

Mr Grimsey, 60, holds a distinguished career in the retail sector, with his most recent positions including chairman of Focus DIY Ltd from 2007 until 2011, and non-executive director at the Captita Group plc from 2006 - 2010.

In 1994 Mr Grimsey was a board member and advisor at the Kingfisher group, leaving in 1995 to become chief executive at Wickes plc. His 40 year career also includes executive positions held at the Big Food Group plc, which incorporates Iceland, and FYI Palladium Partners.

Findel's chairman David Sugden said: "We are delighted that Bill is joining the board of Findel.

"With more than 40 years of experience in the retail sector, his expertise will be invaluable to Findel and will complement the existing skills and experience on the board as we continue our focus on delivering the Findel transformation.
