FEDIYMA Mission

Created in March 2000, Fediyma was given a 4-fold mission:

  • Track consumer trends
A major objective for Fediyma is to better understand the consumer and the consumption trends: why do consumers improve their homes and do DIY and gardening jobs, what are the barriers to more jobs, how do they choose products and stores, what do they expect from manufacturers and retailers. Equally important is to understand the similarities and differences between countries.
  • Improve market knowledge
The European DIY and gardening market is particularly difficult to monitor. Distribution channels differ, retailers are quite dissimilar, and last but not least, market definitions are not aligned. One objective of Fediyma is thus to bring clarity in the statistics on DIY and gardening in Europe and to update the community on the globalisation trends.
  • Encourage exports and international relationships
Many manufacturers have a significant share of their turnover in export. Fediyma wants to help them through better knowledge of foreign markets, preferential treatment in major fair and trade missions. Also, Fediyma wants to help European manufacturers to meet across countries and join forces.
  • Represent manufacturers and help them grow
Fediyma communicates to and works with all the DIY stakeholders: retailers, press, financial world, service providers... The objective is to help manufacturers to operate more efficiently. A strong link has been established with EDRA, the European Diy Retailers Association. .

Fediyma carries out many projects in line with the above mission and encapsulates its effort in the claim::

"Better prepared for tomorrow"
